6 Teams fished. 2 palces were paid the winning weight was 7lbs 5ozs with 5 fish. On a slot lake with no overs that is just about a prefect sack. $55 will roll over in to next weeks Big Bass Pot. The bite has really been on and every team has reported catching a lot of fish. Come out next week and lets see if we can get it up to 10+ teams.

yes, the fishin on Decker is very good. It is by far the best bass fishin lake in the Austin area. Sure LA you have a chance to catch a giant, but that is it . LA rarely puts out numbers, even for those guys that spend most of there fishin time out there. LT, is the other side. It puts out numbers but rarely any size. Yes, 7+pound fish are rare on Decker but that lake is full of 2 to 5 pounders and right now theyare shallow and aggressive. the mid-day bite can be tuff if it is not cloudy but flippin the reeds will get you a few bites to last you till the last 2 hours of the day when it just gets crazy. there has got to be 50 or more pockets in the reeds where there is snot grass mats. As soon as the sun goes down the bass move up into these areas and eat anything that moves. The sun goin down is like a switch on decker all over the lake but those pockets get packed. good fishin. :)

To all u fishermen out there on the fence about comeing out this is the day to try it out. I have no dought that every team that fishes tonight will catch atleast 20 fish but (unfortunately ) most will be those pesty 3 and 4 pound slots. Good fishin all.

KHoe is right on. check-it stick is the one you want. Golden rule is a golden joke. Never have found a check it that was off(unless you step on the butt that you put the nose of the fish against, it can get bent off center but easily bent back). Few years back I put 2 golden jokes together and the first 5 inches matched but by the 14th inch they where 1/4 inch off. Never have found 2 check-its that dont match up perfect.
