Almost a week after I reported on this forum that the LCRA had closed the Launch ramp at Cypress Creek, despite the fact that the Lake Travis was at 668 almost 2 feet above the stated closure level of 666, they have re-opened the launch ramp.

I launched at the dam and ran all the way over there only to find out that I could have saved time and gas by just launching right there.

Trolled the marina area and piked up a limit Guad's.

And wasted a lots of gas!

Bummer man. Well, least you got some dinner. Tell the eaters this is some mighty fine $20/lb fish I caught for you (thanks to high gas prices and inexplicable ramp closure). Better than getting skunked...

Thanks for the info. I tried launching there a couple of weeks ago just to find it was closed. Glad to hear it is back open.

Unfortunately it may close in the next week or so with the water coming out to fill up LA again. Hope we catch some rain to fill it again soon. That ramp is 5 min's from the house.
