Heading to Choke Canyon on Thur. Has anyone been there? We have a small gas tank and are looking for the best place to put in. Thanks.

Both calliham and the south shore would be good. But honestly, most of the major creeks/better fishing are across from both ramps so it basically depends on the wind forecast and whether you'd be able to run across the lake to those areas.

Green, put in at Caliham and fish the backside of that rock wall all the way down to the point at caliham right in front of the shelters at the campsite. Caught lots of fish there, there was some grass there when I was there six weeks ago or so. I was dragging a C-RIG watermelon lizard through the grass and they were thumping it pretty good.

That's really good advice... and what I can add to that is fish every tree and stick-up you see...

I will be there Sun, Mon, and Tues in one of the cabins. Is anyone else going that time? Try plastics in red shad and spinnerbaits. The area around the cabins is a very good area. I have caught some nice bass at the boat ramp, so don't pass it up.
