I started in the river about sunrise.  It was too muddy for my tastes and I didn't get a bite there or anywhere else, until about 1:30, when I stuck this:

roughly 8 1/2lbs - within sight of the Caliham boat ramp on a CR Zoom 8" watermelon red lizard.  

Warmest water I found was 62...I might have to call in sick mid week...I think it's really close to busting loose out there....

Beautiful fish! And cool pic with your son (I assume). Funny how some of the biggest fish are caught close to the ramp!

I talked to the guy doing the survey for TWPD at the ramp and he said there are always lots of big fish in the timber in front of the state park when they do their shock surveys...he also mentioned the very back of the arm where the Caliham ramp is...I'm headed back there my next trip
