The Central Texas Boat Show is this weekend at the Bell County Exposition Center in Belton. Over 20 vendors will be exhibiting hundreds of boats, motors, trailers, fishing tackle, generators, kayaks, water skis, wake boards, life jackets and many other water related accessories. The show opens Friday the 9th at noon and is open until 9:00 PM, Saturday the 10th the hours are from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Sunday the 11th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission is $5.00 per person with children 12 and under free when accompanied by a paid adult. Parking is free at the Bell County Expo Center.
Friday is Military Appreciation Day with all active duty military and their dependents receiving free admission all day.
Starting at 10:00 AM on Saturday, the Copperas Cove B.A.S.S. affiliated bass club will be offering a free B.A.S.S. kids casting contest from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. There are two age groups, 7 to 10 and 11 to 14 years old. Kids will do their best cast, pitch and flip at a designated target. There will be some great prizes plus the winners will advance to the state championship to be held later in the year.
Also on Saturday starting at 3:30 PM will be the weigh-in for the championship finals for the 9th Annual TuffMan Bass Tournament Trail. One hundred and twenty-two of the region’s top fisherman will be competing for $20,000 in cash and prizes. The weigh-in will be inside the climate controlled Expo dome so everyone will have a great comfortable seat.
There will be free fishing seminars all three days of the show in the dome with such professionals as Keith Combs, Mike Hastings, Tommy Tidwell and Captain Bob Leonard giving up their fishing secrets, boating tips and advice.
Other exhibits will include the U.S. Corps of Engineers, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Hilliard Distributing's Bud Light "Play It Safe on the Water", the Minn Kota and Humminbird hands on electronics display trailer and salt and fresh water guide services.
The commercial exhibitors will be offering special boat show only rebates and cash incentives. Financial institutions representatives will be on hand to offer attractive financing and payment options.
The Bell County Exposition Center is located on Loop 121 at exit 292 just off IH35 in Belton.
