It’s too tempting to take advantage of the later sunsets and get out on the water. I made the short commute to the soil conservation reservoir and dropped in around 4:30 PM. I quickly got two fun fish to the disco yak from a culvert drain. I continued around, making long casts with the wacky senko. If I don’t fish everyday, my accuracy suffers. Its been a few days, but I was able to gently splash the senko within six inches of the water willow after a fifty foot toss for mostly 9 out of 10 casts.

The wind was light and variable. It started blowing a little harder from the NE, so I holstered the senko rod and unfurled the 3.3 swimbait. I slow-rolled the swimbait above the naiad but I got not a single bite, which surprised me. The wind laid back down and I went back to senko. I missed couple of good bites. I caught four more LMB’s for a total of six fish. Off at 7:30pm.
