Weather: cloudy, fog and slight ENE wind, lifting in the afternoon.
Water: Clear, temps 79-84.

Noticed lots of wildlife moving around so we figured there was a chance the bite was going to be good. Had one of the better days in a long, long while.

Two of us boated 50 on mainly spinnerbaits and a few on Assasins.
One 20-30 yard stretch of shoreline at 6:45am produced 13 from 14-18" in about 10 minutes. Another stretch produced a dozen in less than 5 minutes at the end of the day. The rest were scattered about.

We finally are catching some bigger ones in the 18-20" range in shallow waters.

Again, we did not target any schoolers that we saw. They seem to be more sporadic and falling off that pattern anyway.

My thumb is so chewed up!

Bastrop is just a great lake this time of year :D

Not sure yet if I am going to be heading that way Friday....

From North Shore......what direction is the discharge area and what areas (by kayak) are people catching right now? I have never fished that lake so are most hook ups from shoreline cover/structure?

Thanks,
Chris

If you launch from the NOrth Shore, it is a straight paddle across to the discharge. Probably a 1/2 mile from ramp to discharge.
I am definitely going out there on friday, so if you would like to join let me know.
