fished lake bastrop this weekend for the 1st time. Awesome lake!! its close and convenient all i need is an annual pass cuz i plan to be a regular  :).  We started off around 2 pm both days and fished till after sunset. day 1 started in the coves around edges of the eel grass and snagged a few. switched it up to the dam but got the same results. moved to some sunken trees and finally got into em. biggest was 4 lbs. came back the next day, same time and went directly to the timber and caught 4 biggest was a little over 3. all fish caught on trig flukes and worms. Can't wait to go back!!!

Thanks for the solid report, glad you guys found some fish.

I've heard the Discharge has slowed down a bit right now. If there are balls of shad in there and they are pushing water it really is a sight to see. We were out there a few month's ago and they were making balls of shad jump up on the banks, the shad would flop around until they worked their way back into the water. Gives me the chills just thinking about how fun it is.

I go there all of the time and I have never heard of an annual pass to launch your boat. If you find that they have one, let me know. Thanks!

Be safe,

Hey, next time you go to bastrop, throw a c-rig brush hog, or rattlesnake, or fluke. And some strike king lipless crankbaits, and small white spinnerbaiits... if you add those to your bastrop arsenal you'll be in good shape for bastrop this time of year.
