Fished Bastrop Saturday morning with my brother and a buddy from 7am - 11am. It was blowing hard 20-30mph.

We caught fish early in the morning in the discharge on rattletraps and flukes then tried to fish the main lake. We did manage a few fish on traps out on the main part of the lake but could only fish the spots that were protected.

All in all probably ended with 15 or so fish biggest was 4lbs.

Told my buddy that had never fished Bastrop before, when you can say 15 fish is a slow morning you know the fishing out there has been good.

Z its not a mexican thing buddy I just dont allow hacks my boat ;D. I guess if that was really the case I wouldnt be fishing from it either.

Ill holler at you the next time im heading out that way. I had a full boat and the weather didnt look good so we didnt know how long we were going to last, I also knew that you might not want to take that long drive to the lake in conditions like that.

Jim you been getting out? Still would like to hook up sometime.

Question from a newbie, what is the difference between a paper tourney and regular?
They do this on lakes that have a slot limit.
On Fayette, you have to release fish that are in between 14 to 24 inches. Therefore you have to measure the fish, and then toss them back in the water. You can not bring them back to the scale.

Here is a web site that has the conversion chart to figure your weight.
