Fishing on Amistad was tough these last few days, if anyone follows the BASS you will see that the Elite tournament out there which was starting today was cancelled due to strong winds. Wednesday's forecast was 12-13 mph winds and cloudy, instead we got 15+ mph winds and drizzle all day long until about 2:30 or so. We managed only 5 fish biggest going only a couple of pounds, all were caught either on Ratl-traps, silver with blue, or Strike King redeye's. I did manage to land one on a lucky craft crankbait medium runner.

All in all it was rough for our first time out there, we plan to go back however we hear wind is always a concern on amistad?

Most of our fishing was done in and around Exxon cove and the San Pedro flats. Did not want to risk traveling too far the waves were pretty large in the main lake.

I usually don't post here but often read what's going on and you're right, the fishing at Amistad has been tough. My friends made a trip for this weekend and are having a TOUGH time due to the wind....they told me this morning it was kind've weird as they didn't see white waves, but still tough fishing. I know we've had some minor fronts which have hit Choke the last 2 times I've gone out there..hoping to go to Choke tomorrow and Mon depending on the weather.
