A fayette afternoon

Took my dad and my boy out yesturday for a little fayette fun. We fished from 6 till 8ish. Man the lake level stinks. Boated 24 fish the largest being in the 5.5-6lb range. Tbucky was there in his boat and was fishing either in front or back of me(we might as well be in the same boat.lol) Anyway, I think they boated about the same. The bite is funny now, pretty slow until an hour before dark. It has been like this for a couple of weeks now, post spawn????? Also I haven't been able to catch the fish on my deeper bite in the last few trips.

I hear you on the lake level. When that lake gets a couple feet low it really changes it up. The only thing I like about it being a little low is it makes it easier to fish that timber point outside of oak thicket. I do really good there when the lake is a little low.
I had to get back out there BigDub after Sat. afternoon. I was really after a "Share A Lumber" Tree Branch but couldn't seem to get back on that pattern. We ended up with 21 total.................on the same pattern as BigDub. Hope the water level comes up before Spring Break next week.

Bucky,

Keep at it man! Never give Up!

Your " Share a Lumber" will come soon. Try a DD22 in and around shallow laydowns. I have hooked a few SAL's with this method, but my line broke before I could land her.  ;D

BTW. This " Share A Lumber " was landed by Painter G out of Ranger R77's boat.

It did end up going home and got hung on the wall. Kinda a shame, but it was a trophy!!

report from another message board

3/11-3/12

This is going to be a short report. I had my son in from school on spring break on the first day and a client on the second day. Threw traps, crank baits, Texas Rig, Carolina Rig, and even a jig. Total for the two days were over 108 bass caught. Now is the time to teach someone or even practice what you want to learn. The fish are biting. I taught one guy how to fish Carolina today and he caught over 15 himself and he loved every minute of it. Good luck.
Dang what was the length and girth on that bad boy!! ;D

Bucky,
Dont look for the level to come back up before spring break. We have 2 units down now for repairs. One will be down for a while and the other should be back this weekend. The river pumps are shut down also.....I don't know when we'll start the river pumps up yet, but i bet it'll be a couple of weeks before we do. If and when we do I will keep y'all informed....
Hope this helps,
Noel
why do they have to drop the water level to work on the units.

We don't drop the level to work on the units, wed drop the level during the winter....it just happens that we have 2 units down right now.
I would think with the temps warming up we would start the river pumps fairly soon.

Noel
Looks like the pumps are running again. Lake level should be back up soon.
Eric...had to remind me again of that interesting day at Dr. Woods Dock...Now I know why it was called DR WOODS! ;D
Yes the river pumps were started yesterday. Lake will be back up soon....

Fayette parks are contracted out. They run the parks and set the rules. We may be able to ask them and see what they say??
