Put on the water about 7:15 this morning and went to the north side trees to see if I could catch my first frog fish. I had one on but lost her :-[. Me and Jim fished there for about 1 hr with only a couple fish in the boat. We then headed to some points and got into some fish with T-rig watermelon worms. THEN we found some thick grass in 6 to 10 ft of water and the bite was on. All fish were in the slot and caught on T-Rig watermelon and pumpkin seed 5 inch worms. Wind was about 10 to 15mph and temp was 71 (i think). It was a double digit day. This one was the biggest :weight was 6.2 but it looked bigger than that. I think I need another battery in that scale ;)

Nice fish! I was out there today in my yak. :) Fished from about 7:15 - 12 at the north side and hit the coves east of the ramp. Didn't do as good as you guys. Ended up with 12 total. Biggest was 3lbs. Hooked all my fish on crank baits. I tried throwing rattle traps and t-rig motor oil worms too but cranks were the winning bait today. Couldn't find the big groups of fish. Would hook 2 in a row and then nothing for a while. Was a beautiful day and had fun. Bastrop is a blast to fish!
