Dumb question, why is there a 100.00 deposit to file a protest.

20. PROTEST & POLYGRAPH TEST: Lone Star Series members may submit a protest during the tournament morning prior to launch or immediately following the weigh-in of the last team’s catch, but before the start of the awards presentation. Protests shall be in writing and accompanied by a $100.00 deposit. The burden of proof of a rules infraction will be the responsibility of the angler filing the protest. This deposit will be refunded providing the protest is upheld, otherwise, the deposit shall be forfeited to Lone Star Series. Any member may be required to submit to a Polygraph or truth verification test. Failure to submit to either of these tests will result in disqualification from this tournament and the angler(s) will not be eligible to fish in any future Lone Star Series tournaments. Any angler making an accusation against another contestant without submitting a written protest accompanied by a $100.00 deposit may be subject to disqualification from current and future Lone Star Series events.

I light of the recent events in North Texas regarding possible rules violations in other events, we have decided to implement some additional procedures to help protect the integrity of our trail and to make sure that these issues are taken seriously.

*However, these rules aren't final at this point and we are still working on making necessary adjustments.

Point taken but Central sounded a lot better than Somewhatsoutheastandalittlebitcentral Division.  :)

We debated between Central and South.  Sorry if there is any confusion to the Division title.  Regardless we are excited about this Division and believe these lakes will provide some excellent fishing and competition for our anglers.

Look forward to having you.

The Central schedule has only Belton I would consider "Central"
Conroe is East
agreed - as are Livingston and RC (IMO).  Take out Belton and add Rayburn and it would definitely be considered an "East" region.

I'm also curious about the $100 deposit to file a protest.  I've never even heard of that.  If there were a true Central, South or South Central (Amistad, Choke, Falcon) region, I'd be all over this...

Protest issue was resolved already and removed.  As mentioned, when that post was made the rules weren't final.  There will be minor adjustments as well moving forward as needed.

To follow up again with regards to the Division Title, we reviewed the naming options and Central got the nod.  We have 2 Divisions in 2010 and those are the titles.  Things may change a bit in 2011 if we add 2 additional Divisions.

Our "Central" TD is located in The Woodlands, so we set up a schedule that he could deliver on and that included a good mix of lakes that will challenge tournament anglers and allow anglers from the I35 and I45 corridors to complete in, while trying to minimize the amount of overnight stay required.

Look forward to seeing you at an event.

Thanks for taking all feedback into consideration and providing "Central" anglers other tournament options.

We'll be there at the season opener on Belton. If you guys haven't noticed, this trail has a 90% base payout and a 100% side pot payout for big bass.

We are excited to announce that our 2010 North and Central Division events are now sanctioned with BPS Tournament Rewards, Skeeter Real Money and Triton Gold Rewards programs respectively.  We are proud to provide our anglers these great programs from these quality boat brands.  These programs should provide for some outstanding paybacks this year.

We will have some additional program announcements coming soon.  Check our 2010 schedule in the tournament section or visit us on the web at www.lonestarseries.com for more information.
