STILLHOUSE HOLLOW BASS TOURNAMENT

Monthly 1st Saturday Tournament
***ATTENTION FIRST SATURDAY OPEN TOURNAMENT ANGLERS***  The first Saturday open tournaments will be held at the Marina again starting in April. We will be launching and weighing in at the Marina store. Check In time is from 5:30am until 6:15am with a first cast at 6:30am.  Weigh in is at noon. See you there.......

Open Tournaments

Central Texas Bass Anglers sponsors two tournaments that are open to the public on the first Saturday of every month.

There is a "Big Bass" tournament that costs $10 per contestant and each individual weighs only the largest fish he caught that day.

There is a "5 Fish" tournament that costs $20 per boat and each boat can bring in up to 5 fish to weigh in.

Both of these tournaments run simultaneously, and your big bass can be used as one of your 5 fish, so entering both tournaments is a breeze.

Open "Big Bass" Tournament Rules

1. These rules and regulations shall be strictly followed. It is each contestant’s responsibility to read and fully understand these rules and regulations. Any contestant may be disqualified for noncompliance. All entrants agree by signing the Entry Fee Envelope that: decisions of the tournament officials will be final without recourse and Central Texas Bass Anglers (CTBA) or its members shall not be held liable for any claim of any type arising from participation in this tournament.

2. This is a BIG BASS tournament. Entry fee is $10 per contestant per tournament day. Each contestant may weigh in only one bass each tournament day. The bass may be a largemouth, smallmouth or Kentucky /spotted bass, 14" or longer. Three places will be paid:

1st place - 50% of the total entry fees for that tournament day

2nd place - 20% of the total entry fees for that tournament day

3rd place - 10% of the total entry fees for that tournament day

Ties shall be decided by the flip of a coin.

3. CTBA reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who has previously been disqualified from any fishing tournament for a rule violation. Anyone who has guided for pay on Stillhouse Reservoir in the last 12 months may not participate.

4. Any contestant who displays poor sportsmanship, violates these rules and regulations, or violates any federal, state, or local game law will be disqualified for that tournament day. Disqualification from future CTBA tournaments shall be at the sole discretion of the tournament director.

5. Entry fees must be paid in cash, in full prior to 6:15 AM on each tournament day at the Stillhouse Marina Store.

6. Stillhouse Reservoir is off limits to any contestant from 9:00PM on Friday before each tournament day until 5:30AM on that tournament day.

7. Contestants may be on the water at 5:30AM on the tournament day but may not fish until 6:30AM .

8. Weigh-in time is 12:00 Noon at Stillhouse Marina Store. Contestants not checked in with the tournament director by 12:00 Noon will be scored a 0 weight for that tournament day.

9. Contestants must be adequately equipped to keep fish alive prior to weigh-in. Only live fish will be weighed and will be released back to Stillhouse Reservoir by CTBA immediately following weigh-in.

10.  Contestants shall bring only one fish to the weigh-in. Fish must be brought to weigh-in in a bag or other container with water.

11.  Only one, live Black bass (14" or longer) will be weighed. Short or dead fish will be scored as 0 weight for that tournament day.

17.  Boating, bank fishing, wading, belly boating, etc. is allowed. Boats shall have all required safety equipment, and be in compliance with USCG regulations.  Life jackets shall be worn and the driver will have the kill switch connected to his person whenever boat is on plane.  The Tournament Director has the right to inspect boats and may delay or cancel the start of a tournament for severe weather or factors that endangers the safety of competitors.  Violation is loss of all weight for the day.

18.  All Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations shall be obeyed.

Sweet, if CAST is going to be out there also add another 15 boats.

Potentially over 100 boats on Stillhouse this Sat...the way its been fishing I'm not sure there are even 100 black bass left in that lake.

I've read where the average angler can fish 15 acres in 8 hours, but which 15 are you going to get that day?

A lot of used water and better have an anchor.

FAN does have a permit and reserved the Stillhouse Park for our event.
I just ask that the FAN members be courtious at the ramps and check in at the shores of Stillhouse Park Pavilion, and we will get everyone launched at safe light.
No tournament is worth a wrecked boat or worse. A safe and friendly event is what FAN is all about.
Good Luck
