Decided to head to Choke Canyon to start the new year out right. By all reports, the fishing has been very tough recently. Spent most of the 1st on the main lake and could not buy a bite. Finally decided to head up the river around 2:30 - way up the river. Got on a pretty strong flipping just before San Miguel. Ended up with around 16 pounds in about two hours. Started up river this morning and the bite was pretty well the same. Find grass with 10' of water nearby and the fish were there. Caught a few early and decided to go back to the main lake to try to get a big bite. It just didn't happen. All in all a great two days on the water though. The weather was awesome.
