    Highland Lakes LCRA

Some good news for all those Travis Guads:

AUSTIN -- The LCRA has filed an application with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality asking for emergency drought relief.

The relief would allow LCRA to supply less Highland Lakes water to downstream farmers in 2013 than required by the state-approved Water Management Plan. LCRA’s Board approved the request for emergency relief on Nov. 14. If the state approves it, 2013 would be the second year in a row that LCRA instituted emergency drought relief.

Well, not really. The spin regarding this application is outrageous and very misleading. This plan will allow the release of at least 145,000 acre feet of water to the farmers, about 7 times what they received in 2012. If this happens and we don't get significant rain then look for the Highland Lakes to hit new record low levels in 2013. F' the LCRA!!!

Yeah, the LCRA is trying to sell us a plate full of poo by putting a bow on it and calling it cake. I'm not having any!
