Re: Need Yamaha Mechanic
Remove the cowling a check to see if a bolt or something has come loose and is blocking the shifting levers from totally engaging (at the front of the motor).
This happened to me a year or so ago. It would go in forward fine but reverse only partially. -

Omar,
That is what it was, now the question is, where does the bolt go? That has me worried ???2011 BassChamps East Region Champions - Lake Sam Rayburn Oct 1-2

Don't know what they call the part in goes in but it's like a water jacket cover or something. There's one on right side and one on left side.
There are several other bolts in the cover so if you match the head size it will narrow your search.
Good luck and let me know if you find it.
P.S. By the way, if you find it DON'T OVERTIGHTEN IT!!!!
Don't want it to break! -

Re: Need Yamaha Mechanic
Well, I got to looking around and I found where the bolt goes. It went to one of the clips that hold the colwing on the motor. How in the [email protected] it came loose and unscrewed straight up is a wonder and no telling how long it has been out.
Good thing it is fixed now.
Thanks to everyone for all their help.
