i've torn everything apart and still no power to the tm. guess i'll do the first step last and take the batteries in for a test? one question, once everything is torn apart, does it matter how many left over screws and stuff I have?

I took my foot control off the deck and was experimenting with positioning. what is your preference? it was turned to the right a little off center but i never really liked it. i'm thinking about mounting it dead center, straight on. any ideas besides a recessed pan?

Uh yea Matt. I believe the battery test should have possibly come first.. Do you have a little tester??? Or a clip on battery charger?

the trolling motor was officially declared dead at 4:46 pm 7/11/12.....
Dustin came over and tested from the batteries forward. All looked good all the way up to the plug.
What was wrong with yours Chillfish?

It was a sad sad day... Nonetheless, I'm sure you needed an excuse to buy some new toys.

And after thinking about it last night, you may want to have that thing checked out before you pull the trigger on a new one. It could be something minor, unless you have your heart set on a new one

Those are nice trolling motors but... I have heard complaints that they are slow to manuver around stumps and what not compared to their cable-steered counterparts. I have never used one so I can't say but it's definitely something to consider
