Reminder to Lower Your Motors!
Friendly reminder that with these freezing temps, it is a good idea for those who keep their boat outside to lower the motor so the water can drain out the lower unit and not freeze/crack it.

Maybe a day late for some, but good info Andrew.
Mine stays lowered this time of year for that very reason.
On a side note, I wonder how many boats in slips didnt get winterized before last nights cold snap?"Shit is not like it once was"- AggieGreg

I just called my brother and told him to go check the tooner. I always lower it when I park and lock it up, but something tells me after last Thursdays Lake Travis bender that's probably not the case. I certainly don't remember lowering the motor.
I'm guessing most of the water drained out between Point Venture and Austin anyways, lots of hills.
