Prop Blow out
About 6 months ago I replaced my 21 pitch prop with a 23 pitch prop for more performance on my 1998 Basscat/150 hp Merc. What I an experiencing is that when I am by myself with a light load the prop and boat preform well with a good holeshot and top end around 61mph.
But with a Tourney load of full live well, gas and partner I will get a blow out when I start, not a serious one but it is very noticable. Also when the boat is light it will blow out if I start and turn.
Do I need to lower the motor or raise it?

Re: Prop Blow out
Let me know what prop you have. If it is a 23p Trophy plus. You may benefit from a cavotation ring, and use your PVS holes. I really need to know the prop you have. Also if it is a Tempest they are basically all turds out of the box except 25p and 27p. The 28 and 29p are good but a totally different rake design. If it a tempest, a little tip cup will fix that.

Re: Prop Blow out
Thanks Brian, I think it is a Tempest but not 100%, I got it from Nettles. I will check and let you know.
