    cleaning an aluminum tank?

Ok I got the tank out of old timer and it is aluminum. *the good thing that means no rust but there still a lot of trash and varnish in the tank. *so i was wondering what is the best, easiest, and cheapest way to get it clean? thanks for the info.

ok I think I found the main problem for the fuel. while pulling the fuel system I drained the tank and found that there is some junk in it. but then I removed the fuel filter and well the picture below sayes it all. I am starting to believe that my original though that Old Timer has been sitting for at least 10 years. she should run great after I put her back together and put on a new filter. I ordered four off ebay for 20 dollars.
