    Austin 8/2 Night

We hit Austin for an evening trip. Wasn't expecting much and from around 9pm through 1am, it was living up to expectations. We boated 2. We then hit a couple of mouths of coves and found a few more. Two of us ended up with 8 total up to a couple of pounds. Nothing exciting. I did miss one that seemed fairly heavy.

Did find some greenery in the water in Rebar Bridge cove and some vines from lakefront owners growing into the lake. Hadn't seen neither since 2013.
Is it a sign that grass carp are thinning out? Let's hope so.

First time I've been on this forum in a long time. I come on the forum so seldom these days. A far cry from when the fishery peaked several years ago and I was checking the forum frequently. This is good news, though! Would be pretty amazing if those carp finally were thinning out!

The life on this forum seems reminiscent of when I first started reading it in what must have been 2006. Reports like this would get one or two replies. I guess it's a sign of how far this forum has fallen that a regular contributor like yourself hasn't gotten a single reply to a report like this in over 3 weeks. Mmm. Lake Austin. Such a fantastic treasure!
