I hope you had good luck with crappie in Virginia.
I had a great weekend fishing. I caught good numbers of Largemouth to four-and-a-half pounds at Pfork. They were hitting mid-diver and Senko in complete white-out conditions. Then the norther hit and washed me up on the dam. Doh!
Today I listened to thundersnow and watched icicles grow down the house until I was stir-crazy. I rode my bike to the pond as it continued to sleet and frozen rainbow lit the way. I caught three largemouth and then biked to the downstream pool where I caught a nice Red Ear Sunfish. I wish I liked the cold as much as they bite!

Early last week, the boy and I rode bikes down to the neighborhood pond for some perch jerkin'. We saw lots of fences and trees down from the storm that hit the night before. The fish were still rebounding from the level change, but we got a few.
Today, I had mixed results at Pfork. I had three strikes and no fish on paddletail. I had five strikes for one crappie and one bass on spinnerbait. I caught some fun-fish WW. I got a few good'uns around noon on Texas-rig creature.

Its been too long since I'd wet a line, so I dodged the holiday madness for a little quiet time down at the neighborhood pond. I found them stacked in a corner. I caught five in a row on a finesse worm. My hands were cold, the sun was sinking and the dinner bell ringing, so I CPR'd the fifth bass and headed home.

I needed to get out and fish. I grabbed my white bass rod and headed to the neighborhood pond. I slow-rolled the white road runner til I caught one. Now I need to go insulate the hose bibs.

Its way too cold to go fishing, but I went anyway. I went to the next neighborhood down the road to try their pond. The only thing worse than trying to cast light spinning gear with gloves on is fishing with spinning gear and no gloves. My fingers were completely numb so I splatter cast until I hit the sweet spot. I slow rolled the horse-head under-spin until BAM, fish on! Yeah, I'm good til tomorrow...

I rode my bike down to the neighborhood pond. A father and two sons were just leaving. I cast a road runner outside the flipping tree. The dad told me they were biting, and BAM, fish on! They paused to watch me reel in the fish, paid a compliment and headed out.
I lost the roadrunner in the tree and tied on a split-shot finesse worm. I caught five on the worm as the sun sank. I rode my bike home in the twilight.
