Bass Champs Red River
Ok now I am curious, whats the census? I haven't seen any thread on BC being on the Red. What are you guys thoughts on this? I am headed there, granted its a trek out there. But should be some fun fishing. So lets hear it

I think a lot of boats are going to get torn up...
Its a pretty tough fishery and is in Louisiana. I guess I don't understand the thinking behind having the championship for a Texas bass trail in LA. I am sure the south guys are thrilled to make that drive...only 566 miles from Del Rio to Shreveport.

Too expensive of a trip at a time of year when too many other things are going on in my opinion.Catching 14 lbers on the reg.....

I thought it was a good venue since there is only 1 championship now...it kinda levels the playing field a little bit.
Sure the East Texas guys have an advantage just because of logistics, but what lake in Texas could you hold it where one division wouldn't be at an advantage or disadvantage? It's something new and although only 3 fish, at least they can see where they measure up vs the pro's. It might not be the best fishery, but when it comes to tournament fishing vs fun fishing, you still get excited when you catch a 2lber in a tourney like you would a 5lber when fun fishing.Thursday Nighters on Dunlap

Personnally I like the idea. Granted it is a little ways out there. But like Shawn said, it does kind of level the field a bit. We don't fish river systems here in Texas, we don't have Locks to deal with, and most people don't go out there. Maybe the East Texas guys do, but I bet not as much having Rayburn, Fork, T-Bend in their back yard. The 1 championship I think is pretty neat. I knew we wouldn't have 300 teams heading out there, I am thinking about 200 or so may show up. So at least in my mind its a good deal. Not really to many places you could go and level the field, and handle that many boats. Plus after I rerig my rods for the next day I can waiste some money at the casino LOL
