It started good for us today. I had our first keeper in the boat by 8am or so. 4.25lb so we thought it was going to be good. NOT. It shut down for us with dinks the rest of the day. If I do not place in the money I dont turn the fish in to save it some stress. So we have 0 on the results.

I'd like to thank the TTZ crew for the Get Five mention at the weigh in. I'd also like to say this was one fun tournament. The launching conditions were less than ideal, but there was a plan in place and it worked. Also, the anglers out on the water were friendly and courteous- this trail is definitely attracting the right kind of fisherman.

As far as Alec and I's day, we were the second to last boat to be sent off and our primary and back up spots had boats on them. I say "primary and back up spots", but the truth is that neither of us had been on the lake for like three weeks so we were basically fishing blind. We started running little cuts with sand drains on the upper end of the main lake seeing if we could find fish relating to the different depth change and thinking about spawning. On my second or third cast I got a keeper on a 6XD. I had a couple more hit it and miss and thought we were on to something but it wasn't to be... We were getting periodic short fish and I caught a really nice white and then there was a long stretch of nothingness. We went up the Colorado and Alec put a second keeper in the boat, but it just barely measured. We then started heading down lake and ended up in the remnants of a creek. I was throwing a spinnerbait hoping for a big bite and caught a 3.5 pounder back there. We were feeling pretty good about the area and hoped to get on a few more but that was it.

Right before heading in we measured Alec's fish and it wasn't measuring anymore so we tossed it. All in all, it was a great day and lots of fun.

Congrats to the winners and the ABFers who finished in the money!

Thanks Deb, it was a well run tourney. Congrats to Dennis and Lynn, I didnt see the fish bit thats a healthy sack for Travis.

Barry and I went further up the river than I had ever been (17miles from T point). we were looking for the dirtiest water we could find with the biggest chunk rock we could find. Had our limit by 11. First spot" we stopped at we put our first 3 keepers in the boat. As you can see, the weights were extremely close together.

Thanks to Andy,Brian, Robby and the rest of the TTZ crew. Well done.

You ready to try and do the same thing next sat Deb?

Monster turnout. Congrats to all who cashed checks. Looks like TTZ is the place to be in Central Texas.

Congrats Booker, Andy and Crabby. That's great to see.
