Rubber band trotlines
Does anyone know if they are legal anymore? I've been told they are and I've also heard they were outlawed a few years back. If anyone knows for sure I'd like to know. I used to run them all the time and they worked great and have been thinking about getting back into it but don't want to get ticketed!
From what I can tell on the TXPW regulations is that if you keep them at a max of 5 hooks they are legal. It would be considered a throwline.
But what's the point in just 5 hooks? Not worth the hastle. The rules on trotlines are too vague. I'm thinking if I use wooden stakes at the bank and put some tags at the beginning and end of the hooks that are spaced at least 36" I"ll be good. Up to 50 hooks I think.
