Thar she blows - Lady Buch 4/14/2012
Brandon, Steve and I went out on Brandon's boat this morning. We all met at Burnet county ramp at 6:00am and left to go net some bait. We were able to get a couple hundred shad and headed out to our normal spot.
Winds were blowing steady 15-18 with some gusts above 20. Had a couple waves over the bow and fishing was very slow in the beginning. Couldn't buy a bite except for a couple catfish so we moved SE to another hole. We drowned a couple shad there for 30 minutes or so and were pulling up our lines to move again when Brandon saw a big arch come into the screen and our last rod that was still down bent over. Steady fish for the next 1 1/2 hour or so. Bagged 12 Fatty Hybird/Striper, 4 cats and a white. Released another 15 17inch fish too.
Tried our orignal spot again and picked up another 1 or 2 fish then moved to the North side of Shaw. Had birds working a large school of shad with blue screen of whites underneath. Grabbed a couple jigging and called it a day as Brandon's trollling motor was out of juice. Wind was relentless and moving spot to spot got us all soaked.
Overcast skies, water was 72 degress or better and fairly clear

You guys are absolute badasses! To think that I was worried about you earlier this morning as I watched the trees get pitched around. Awesome!

We were fishing in a 24ft boat. I think we took four or five over the bow. It was rough . I couldn't imagine fishing that wind in something smaller.

Man you guys are tougher than me I got blown off the lake yesterday. Of course Brandon century is probably the best suited boat on the lake for that type water. We need to plan that fish fry/crawfish boil.
