Epic Lake Buchanan Trip
We arrived at lake buchanan at around 8am Thursday morning and set up camp. We figured the fishing was probably slow but headed down about 10. Through the cast net one time and got over 100 shad and got on the water as quick as possible. First cast was a keeper stripper and after that we caught fish all the way until dark. Mostly undersized striped bass, and hybrids (probably around 50 of them; fun but no keepers), but we managed 11 keeper whites 2 catfish and a 6 lb gasper goo. Friday we did the same thing and managed around 19 all whites, but still caught a ton of undersized hybrid and stripers. Then cam Saturday morning and we fished from 6am to 1pm and caught fish every cast almost. We ended up limiting out on whites 3 catfish and 1 gasper goo bringing us to a total of 81 fish for Saturday morning between 3 of us.
We used all live bait mostly caught on the shores of Black Rock State Park. Ended up on the weekend with a total of 120 keepers but caught easily over 200 fish with all the undersized hybrids and striped bass.
Will post picks later havent uploaded them to my computer yet“Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime”

They are all right off the points on the end of the brush lines in about 20 yards out. They bait was barely hitting the water Saturday and they were nailing it.“Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime”

After catching a keeper stripper on your first cast, I am surprised you kept fishing :-)
Ok, bad Monday morning humor. Good report.

Yea the wind was like 20mph all weekend we found them hiding on the backside of the points where we could throw with the wind. But the whites we found throwing straight into the wind off of a point.
