Well Matt I won't call you stupid but I will answer. I'm headed to the coast and a 12 hour semi-deep sea trip this weekend. I cover the the reels with the stuff and any metal on the rods. When I get home, I spray the rods and reels with the garden hose, let them dry and hit em again with CorrosionX. In 6 months or a year when I get to the salt again the gear is good to go. CorrosionX seems to leave a better protective film/layer than WD40. In my opinion of course.
Academy had several dozen cans in stock.
