Jug fishing rules - colors & legality on lakes..
I've heard that only white jugs are allowed on Texas lakes, is that correct? I have some old orange "juggers" from 2003 that I still would like to use.
Also, is it legal to set jugs on Decker Lake aka Walter E. Long? Just curious if a city lake has its own rules.
Thanks in advance!

Texas Law dictates that juglines must be white in color, and can only be used for non-game fish, like catfish.

Jug-fishing is legal on most lakes in Texas, but see the TPWD Outdoor Annual for exceptions. Jug-lines must be marked with a white, free-floating device and must bear a gear tag with the angler’s name, address, and date the jug was set out. This information may be placed on the float instead of a separate tag. Up to five hooks may be used per jug.
