    BassCat Pantera Classic ???

hey guys i was wondering what you opinion are on these boats. I do not know much about them but i am currently looking at trading up to a 2000 Pantera Classic w/MErc 200 EFI from a 88 176 champion.

    Just want some opinions.

Buy it! If the price is justifiable to you, it is a hot rod boat. Not the most storage or the most glorified boat, but is fast! 70+ is easy. Have seen some hit 75. For a 19 footer that is damn fast. Plus it is a drivers boat, lets you learn how to drive and prevent chine walking.

it is in my price range and big step up from my champion. I also need to see how much insurance is going to run. I liked the layout of it. The only thing i did not like is that the ice chest was a little small 8). I still need to take it out for a test run.

    JJAm,

Just got got my first BassCat.. It is a Cougar FTD, and as many have said, it is a rocket ship. One of top boats on the market today for Quality vs Value.

Check with POPS52 for INS. Mine was super Cheap..

Also, small cooler? ? Mine fits a 24 and a bag of ice with ease.

Post up the the link, so we can check it out.

    JJam,

That is nice!!! I would jump all over it.

It is local, so state your intent to buy, but insist on taking it out on the lake.. You will be surprised on how nice it is.

I have only owned mine for 3 weeks or so. I have not been in really rough water. But, from last night on Lake Travis, I ran from Mansfield past Lakeway in 12 mins crossing all kind of wakes... no prob, just aired over em..

Also, I think my ins is something like this from Pops52.

    Total boat loss $25,000
    Liability $100k/ $300k
Unrealted fishing items loss $4000.00 ( cameras, cell phones ( i need that ) ect..
    $500 deduct..
and I am missing something else, but it was about $413.00 for 1 year!!

Good luck with it, looks like a sweet boat..

I have already put a down payment on it and waiting to see if my credit will hold up. I just started building my credit a year and a half ago to 2 years. Screwed it up when i was younger.

They already said we can take it on a test drive when i am ready. I do not want just yet incase the deal does not go through. I do not want to get my hopes up to high :-[

    No doubt...

    I can understand that..

Even with pretty good credit.. boats are kinda hard to qualify for. I am sure you can imagine why.. I hope you can join team BassCat though..

We are trying to catch up with team Triton ;D ;D

    EA.

Also, Pops52 has a BassCat Pantera. He knows BassCat's, he know boat ins... I am sure he will chime in when he reads your post.

By my Smart Craft gauges, it gets about 13-15 mpg at haul a$$.

    Here is some pics..

Most will be surprised, but both boat and Digger fit nicely in the Garage!
