Status of Public/Private Boat Ramps on Lake Travis

ALL PUBLIC, CONCRETE RAMPS are CLOSED...

    However,
Most launch right of the shoreline of the following parks. Most of the time, 4x4 truck must be used to pull boat out of water.

    Pace Bend Park

PRIVATE Ramps are still open, some fees and/or membership is required. Might have to call to find out the details.

    Lakeway Marina and Boat ramp

Lago Vista POA Boat Ramp (Emerald Point Ramp is open, but gated!)
Must be a resident or know someone that lives in Lago Vista, Texas, to get a guest pass.

    PER KXAN news:
"However, the county and the LCRA are working on taking advantage of the drought to extend the boat ramp at Mansfield dam. Talent said the funding is secured and plans are in the works to revamp the ramp in preparation for another drought."

Re: Status of Public/Private Boat Ramps on Lake Travis

There was a rumor that boaters can launch their boats at Volente for $20. I have NO idea if this is true or have checked it out...maybe a month old, too..

So, what is the latest status if someone wants to launch a boat (with or without 4x4) on the lower end of lake travis. Maybe Arkansas Bend? Sandy Creek or is it DRY creek now??

I'm not sure I'm all that behind the LCRA extending a ramp to make it easy for the big wake board boats and cigarette boats easy to launch right now. Us fishermen can still find a way if need be but the river channel that's left can be vry tricky if you have ski boats not equipped with the quality sonars that most of us carry. Also we as fishermen tend to be way more interested in botoom structure and points and islands where as most pleasure boaters just look at water and say"well it looks wet over there I should be fine" I just can't imagine the dangers that Travis would have right now if packed with the normal boats and sail boats normally found on Travis this time of year. I would never attempt to navigate Travis without GPS and a good navionics topo map that accurately shows the main channel

Warning-Do not try and use the LVPOA ramp if you are not a member or do not have a guest pass, they will tow.

Sandy Creek boat ramp is definitely is out of the water, by about 12 feet. I was just on Sunday. There is what appears to be a private ramp on the other side of the cove from the boat ramp.

    Thanks
