Depends what you want to do with it. Shimanos have the casting distance but revos have a much better drag system.

Interesting, i never knew that. I mainly have curados but a couple quantums, one of which is a smoke. I use the smoke for flipping because the retrieve is so fast. Im not a fan of the drag on it though. It can horse a fish out of reeds but it has to be cranked down like crazy. Would you recommend a particular Abu for flipping reeds?

I have a Revo S which works great for flipping. I use it on a rod with 65lb braid so pretty much only frogs and heavy grass. You can really winch fish out with it. I have used the Revo SX and I really like those, I plan on buying a few eventually. More drag than a Shimano and almost as smooth.

Funny, I think my Revo SXs cast farther than my curados, but that is just me. Both reels have their advantages and you can't go wrong either way, go to Cabela's and get both in your hands and see what feels better to you.
