Corpus Christi live bait shops....

Where is a good place in Corpus to get live shrimp bait? My nephew is going down there in a couple of weeks and was wanting to know. I have only fished around Kemah, so I could not help him, but I was sure y'all could.

man they are everywhere, go down by the piers or any harbors and you should find em

I like Clem's, just on the other side of the JFK causeway, on North Padre Island. Good people there.

They just re-opened marker 37 which is under the causeway and on the other side of Snoopy's. They have alcohol free fuel, live bait about all the time a nice new boat ramp and a nice fishing pier. Lately people have been catching 40lb drum off that pier at night. If you want to catch trout and smaller drum off a pier at night then go to Red Dot pier half way across the causeway on the humble channel. The pier is right on the humble and the trout stack up in there because it is deep. If you fish there they expect you to buy bait from them. Don't try to throw a cast net off that pier or you will be cussed. People have been limiting out on trout at night there a lot and edible black drum. Don't eat the big ones as they contain too much mercury and a lot of worms.

It is a lot of fun when those big uglies run through the intercoastal. You have a legitimate shot at a 40+ lb fish and they are a lot of fun.

Clem's has pretty decent fishing from their lighted pier as well. When you look for bait just see what bait flags they have flying out front as you drive by. Will save lot's of time stopping and asking questions.

The ones mentioned thus far are good ones. They're all by the causeway from the SE side of Corpus. Just about any harbor near the water down there has a bait stand, including Nueces Bay by the bridge, Hampton's Landing and Conn Brown Harbor in A. Pass. Also more in Rockport/Fulton.
