Suggestions for trolling motor and battery

Looking to get a 30lb trolling motor for a little 10ft boat.
Do you have any good/bad experiences with the Minn Kota Endura 30?
Starting with the low-end right now.

Academy sells Stowaway Marine Deep Cycle batteries. I don't see the Amp/Hour rating listed. How long have you been able to run your trolling motor on a single charge?

If you think healthcare is expensive, wait till its free.

http://austin.craigslist.org/boa/1306354074.html here is the same TM that you can get cheaper.

The StowAway is a pretty good battery. I used them on my other boats and I believe that is what came on the boat I have now and have had no probs. I have used mine up to 10 hours and it was starting to get weak as expected. I have a 46# MotorGuide on my boat.

    Tenfo?

The Stowaway is a decent battery for the money. The big one is around $70 w/ a 2 year warranty. They will replace it no questions asked( love academy for that) Run time depends completely on how you use the motor so it's impossible to guess the actual time. Trolling motors are like anything else, matter of opinion. I've got a salty MinnKota, been a great motor, also had a Motor guide that was great on the boat for years. Get what you can afford and get a second battery connected in parallel if you need more run time..

Make sure to recharge the battery immediately after each use, and every two weeks or so when sitting idle. Leaving it discharged for lengths of time will significantly reduce the maximum charge and the life of the battery.

I have a 35 lb thrust minn Kota TM from Academy that I use on my pelican predator 10' and a Stowaway battery. It runs my boat for about 6hrs on one charge. In a lot of wind I get about 5hrs.

The big deep cycle Stowaway batter is a great battery for the money, I've got 5 of them, they work for a long time, and I've trolled the heck out of Lady Bird Lake, and fished from sun up till sun down and never killed em. I even brought one on a buddies boat and we got stranded and had to troll from Cow Creek to my buddies cove about 2 miles away, and fished his cove once we got back, they are good batteries, and for a 30lb trolling motor, the big deepcycle will last you a long time. Don't hesitate to buy that battery.

Wallmart has good batteries too, and better warranty, might even wanna get those. Robert, RangerR77 knows about em, and that's how I heard they where good, and ended up buying a car battery from wallmart, and there warranty is a lot better, but either battery you chose is gonna be a good battery.

Heck I even friend one Stowaway battery once a long time ago, and it melted and was leaking battery acid and they took it back.

P.S. Don't run wires from a trolling motor to reach the battery without a 40amp circuit breaker! lol. Third time I was out all the plastic melted off my wires, and I thought I was gonna sink the boat! lol. I couldn't see from all the smoke, and really was hilarious afterwards. I just didn't know I needed a circuit breaker way back when and that's how I fried my battery. lol.

I was in Academy yesterday checking out batteries. The salesman told me to go to walmart. He told me Academies warranty was now 12 months. Walmart is 18 months and is a stronger battery.
    Good luck
