    La 2-4

Went out between 8:30-4:30 and launched at Quinlin and set out to the usual spots and a few new ones. Caught them on plastics in 5-10' at the mouth of any creek entrance. Thought I did well with the largest at 5.31 until I stoped and talked to another man that just finished and asked him how he did. He proceded to tell me him and his son had a great day. I asked how great. He told me they had one over 11lbs. and two between 8-9lbs. He said they caught them on swim baits early in the morning. It is always good to be humbled from time to time. Maybe he will post the details.

That is just my luck, I keep hearing how swim baits work out there. I was out there today and threw one for a solid hour and nada. I just have no faith in them. I did manage to catch several keepers on brush hogs. Nothing big though. Next time I am only taking a swim bait.

It's all timing on Austin right now. You've gotta be at the right place at the right time. And right now the right time is the first 90 minutes of daylight and the last 60 minutes of daylight. Notice, he said those guys caught those fish in the morning. You pick the right spot to start at and it could be an awesome day. If not, you could be in trouble.

I'm really hoping that some one *cough* Alan *cough* responds to this question. I've been trying to get this info out of all the LA swimbait guys, but they all seem pretty tight lipped about this subject.
