    Talking Hyde Park Church Lake

Fished there for about 4 hours caught only one nice 3 pound bass. Seems like catch and release makes them
Afraid to ambush the lure. Had fun! Cost 25 dollars to get a lake permit, it will last you for 1 year.

Did you fish off the bank?

    See any sunfish?
I can't complain but sometimes I still do

No sunfish...A LOT of small bass (2-5 inches)

LOL, the just seem not to just jump on it, they look at the bait and swim off or they chase it for a while and stop chasing it.

*L..that's not catch and release causing them to not bite and/or run off.

It could be a bunch of different things, lure color, lure type, lure size, retrieve speed, how clear the water is, kind of line you are using, how close you are to the fish when you see them, how close the fish get to you before they run off, your choice of shirt color, etc.

And I've probably left out 6 more reasons. Here's the rule: If you can see them, they can see you.

Try a more erratic retrieve. Try making your baits hop, skip, dart, dash, stop, twitch and you can often trigger a strike.
