D'you ever do any carp fishing with a fly rod Chris? Seems like every time I'm out early and seeing surface feeding it ends up being carp or gar. Reckon it would be fun with the yak...might need a bigger rod though...

There's a 3wt TFO for sale on the forum for $75 that's a really good deal!

I guess I'm always seeing Gar and the occasional bass in the mornings...hmmm, fly fishing for Gar could be pretty exciting. Definitely need a 6-8 weight rod for either though.

If you're ever looking for a guide to hit up some bass or get a lesson I'd recommend Alvin Dedeaux. Horribly flakey but an awesome teacher and he's been floating and fishing the Colorado below Longhorn Dam for years too.
