That's one spot, there's also a few deeper pools they ll like to hang out and chase trout during the winter. Basically you just wade downstream from the dam until you find deep water.Tpwd did shock a few of the main areas to remove them last winter though, pulled out several 40" monsters that had been terrorizing the rainbows and fly fishers

Have you tried baiting them with dollar bills?

It kind of worked. They would take the bait, but I could't set the hook.
I am using Mustad Long Shanks. Maybe I should try to find some with a large gape. OR maybe go Short shank where the gape is closer to the eye.
Who knows maybe it's the pole. Should try a Fast Action?
